The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Sunday, September 30, 2018

It is the first year that Guernsey has taken part in the worldwide initiative and will see local men's health charities, Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG) and the Men's Shed benefit from a raffle courtesy of Ray and Scott Jewellers.

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, founded by Mark Hawaa, was inspired by a photo of Mad Men's Don Draper sat on a classic bike wearing his finest suit and started with 2,500 riders in Sydney. It has since grown, with 94,000 riders in 92 countries taking part last year.

The global event will be raising money for research into prostate cancer, mental health and suicide programs supporting men's health globally.

Zenith is one of the official sponsors of the ride, Ray & Scott Jewellers, the brand's Guernsey outlet will be donating an exclusive Hedon helmet with all proceeds from the raffle going to local charities split between MUG and the Men's Shed.

The Distinguished Gentleman's dress code of tailored suits, silk waistcoats, and polished brogues along with their classic or vintage rides such as Old School Choppers or Trackers, is sure to be a sight to behold on Guernsey's roads.

Raffle tickets are £20 each and included is a MUG of tea and a bacon butty at the ride. The first 50 riders to purchase one will also receive a MUG goody bag. Tickets can be purchased from Ray & Scott Jewellers on the Bridge.
