Guernsey men become MUGs

Guernsey men become MUGs

Tuesday 15 May 2012

Male Uprising In Guernsey has announced a raft of Ambassdors (or MUGs) who have pledged their support.

Trustee Tony Tostevin explains the role of the MUGs: 'We're delighted so many well-known islanders have agreed to become MUGs. Their support means that our message of encouraging men to be aware of the symptoms of prostrate cancer, and seek medical treatment as early as possible gets across to even more people'.

MUGs will be seen in an island-wide advertising campaign and at MUG fund-raising events in 2012.

Men of all ages and varied walks of life have been invited to become MUGs, you can view the list of MUGs here and our Trustees here.

Other MUG committee members includes individuals from the States of Guernsey Health and Social Services Department, Pink Ladies breast cancer charity, Guernsey Police and many others who collectively are all eager to fight against unnecessary male cancer deaths.

MUG is also proud to be working with Robin Penna and John Dempster from the charity group Prostate Cancer Guernsey - the Orchidians, who already do a fantastic job for those suffering from prostate cancer.
