MUG Gets Growing for Movember

MUG Gets Growing for Movember

Saturday 3 November 2012

Male Uprising Guernsey shares the same objectives as their 'Mo Bros' and always ready to lead by example, MUG's trustees have been growing their moustaches to encourage the men of Guernsey to get folical this November.

Trevor Kelham, Tony Tostevin, Gavin Ferguson, Dan Collins, Owen Cole and Ian Brown are already showing what promises to be some impressive 'tache action and want the men of Guernsey to do the same.

"MUG's aims are very similar to those of Movember and we wanted to show our support for our 'mo brothers' and encourage the men of Guernsey to get behind this celebration of facial hair," explains Trevor Kelham, MUG's founder. "It's all for a good cause and together charities like MUG and Movember can make a difference to men's awareness of male cancers which, when caught early, can have a positive outcome for the patient."

Like MUG, movember also encourages women to get involved in male cancer awareness campaigns, acknowledging that they are often the driving force behind important health messages and will encourage their men to get checked.

Information about Movember can be found at www. http://uk.movember.com but the rules are simple: For the entire month each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache. There is to be no joining of the mo to the sideburns (that's considered a beard), there's to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that's considered a goatee) and each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman. Those interested in growing a mo, can register online where they will also find sponsorship information and those not wanting to grow a mo can donate
