MUG Kicks Off
Thursday 19 March 2015
Guernsey's squad will face their rivals wearing a special blue
strip, which reflects both the charity's colour but also Guernsey's
historic kit last worn in 1905, the inaugural Muratti game.
The match will take place at Corbet Field on 21st March and MUG's logo will appear on the GFA's match kit.
'One of MUG's central aims is to get men of all ages to think proactively about their health. Outreaching to young people via sporting activities helps us to spread the message and we're delighted to link up with other charities, such as the GFA in community activities,' explains Trevor Kelham, Chairman of MUG. 'These kinds of big matches give the charity a great platform to spread our health message and we are grateful to the GFA for this opportunity.'
'We debuted this special MUG blue strip in the U21 Muratti last season to show the Guernsey Football Association's support for the invaluable work that MUG performs in the island and also to acknowledge the Association's history,' explains Gary Roberts, CEO of the Guernsey Football Association. 'We are delighted to continue partnering with MUG and that Guernsey's young players provide support in raising awareness of the important messages promoted by MUG.'
